This is my entry for Illustration Friday's weekly challenge.

This was created in Adobe Illustrator and draws on my disc jockey background.

As always, your comments are appreciated.

Very cool, I love the black background...the beach at night is the best escape!

Aw I really like that! Our little beach at night is definitely an escape for me and my friends. I also really liked your depth one- really pretty. Thanks for the nice comment! :)

Nothing like a picnic on the beach under the moon! I like the flatness of the image and its simplicity...what does it have to do with your disc jockey background?

BTW, I like your new avatar!

Thanks all.
Carla: The dj reference is sort of an inside hint to a friend of mine who visits the site and then emails me to guess what hidden messages I put in picture. I just wanted her to be thinking music when she looked at since the woman is carrying a Pina Colada and the theme was Escape. This was supposed to be the denouement of the Pina Colada song, also known as Escape, of the late 70’s. BTW, thanks for noticing the avatar. :)

I am always late.... combined with a dollar short.

I'm really wondering what's under that big bump of sand? That is not a natural occurrence. Could be a big, fat guy left covered in sand still buried.... could it be the smashed left overs of a HUGE sand castle?

I think you gotta add some reality web tour right there so I can check out the bump! LOL

Wait, I'm supposed to be thinking Pina Colada... isn't it "lost in the rain?" LOL

I'm a lost cause....

I like the little drink... but they should be carrying a battery-operated.... blender for more. LMAO

Running from the obese blue octopus on the left, ready to dig their way to freedom!

Nice break-down of shape to simplicity. Sets a strong mood. Well done.

Sj, interesting feedback as always.

Tony, hmmm, obese octopus. It would be rather tasty, I think.

Shano and Fortwertz, thanks.

Jason, I will do my best. My daughter is entering the costume contest so I think it is going to be a very long day.

OK, I so want to escape there, with the drinks and picnic basket and everything. Way cool. And thank you for the nice comment you left about my Fresh posting. You ask if I used multiply as a blend. I don't see multiply as a blender brush in Painter 8, is it a brush in Painter 9 or is it an effect I don't know about in Painter 8? ??? Thanks jlddavis@charter.net

Thanks for visiting my blog. I used to work in illustrator but I uninstalled it. I like the mood of the picture! Keep up the good work.
