Tony, this is great! I laughed out loud:> And, in addition to be really funny, I love the outlined images (like a crime scene) and the smokey background. Excellent!
Tony... you can't just stop the story there! Either on the blog OR privately, go ahead and continue. I just HAVE to know how she responded to the "gobble!" ;)
I like the layering of the figures against the background. I also love the smokey - mysterious quality the entire image gives off against the humor of the type. Nice Work!
Lol wooooooo! nice image tony! I see you changed up your style. Keep this up. I like it. As for the boondocks cartoon, I have good news. They are gonna start showing it on saturdays also. I think they are taking off the reruns of Fooly Cooly to show the re-airing of last weeks shows on saturday. Also If you have plans and miss the the show but you want to see it early you can stream it off of the adult swim site under their friday night fix at like 11pm-6am eastern time. I watched the 1st episode like 3 times online then again on sunday. :) It is the best show on adult swim sunday. It is like an animated chapelle show. :)
I'm glad you enjoyed this piece. I think of all my IF entries, this is one of my favorites.
While I am sure I will revisit the noir look in the future (who doesn't love noir), I don't have any plans for this particular story-line to continue. Thanks though, to those who suggested I continue this story...if more occurs to me, I will be sure to add it.
Caroline, I didn't see the mermaid until you mentioned it--now it practically jumps out at me.
Dan, 'gobble, gobble' brought it all together for me.
Shano, I also teach Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesgin, Dreamweaver, Flash and some others. I am, in the words of my wife, a 'graphic's geek'.
Pusha V, thanks for the info. I try to catch adult swim when I can-I DVR Robot Chicken. I used to enjoy Aqua Teen Hunger Force. I will record Boondocks and watch it at a more 'respectable' hour.
Finally, Carla, what a great 'over the top' line--I wish I had thought of it.
I love this! It's so dark and scary!!! :D Reminds me of that serial killer story... hmmm... darn, can't even remember the name right now *LOL* But great illustration - the silhouette really makes it mysterious and the swirly background gives it a 'in the alley' atmosphere.
so much information in those simple silhouettes. sexy confidence of the girl, and the more reserved contemplative maybe hesitant posture of the man. great job tony
IF noir! I really like that you've only represented the characters with outlines: that adds a lot of ambiguity to the picture and what the viewer can bring to it. The smokey texture continuing through the figures works really well!

Firstly, you spelt eyes as eys! Interesting illo. Very dark but then there's unexpected humour in the words.
I really love the story here and the outline of the figures. Very smokey feel. Not to worry-I did not notice you "spelled" eye wrong. Cheers!
Ok, the spelling is fixed. Thanks.
I like the smokey effect. it really sets off the tongue-in-cheek-mickey-spillane-feel to the narrative...
an enjoyable place all around.
And then night fell like a dirty curtain....

Well, last week you scared me silly.....this week you really tickled me!
LOL! This is rally funny. I love the way the figures are drawn black on black! That's cool! Mary :-)
nice sort of waking up on a sunday morning: laughing loud!
very nice illustration... :)
I laughed out loud. The corny text with the stirring black and white noir drawing - It is just GREAT. love it
Really funny, I like the smokey scene !
I like this a lot
I love the way you've outlined the figures here and the hints of things in the background - am I the only one that sees a mermaid in there?
And you used Painter for the text???
I keep on putting off using words in my work though I'm attracted to them in others works...
Very funny!
Hi Tony,
great shilouettes! and that smokey background are fantastic!
Nice work!

Nice illo!! love it!! It has a film noir look!! Reminded me of Sin City style too!!
hi tony, thanks for the "great hand"...it seems to me that you are much more skillful of what I am! Great B/W illo. B/W is never easy....
Love the silhouetted figures a lot. Very good rendering of the theme.
You know just WAY too many programs. You my friend, are just way too smart and clever for your own good.
(Great illo, by the way!)
Love the outlines, and the story. But above all, I love that last line. Gobble, gobble.
Now I need to read some Ross MacDonald.
love

Very Dick Tracy feeling (for some reason - maybe I'm off a bit!?) I like the swirling smoke, the clandestine feeling!

lovely background and beautifully drawn figures in the dark. gobble gobble-i like that one!
The new Dashiell Hammett!
wow, this is a beautiful illustration. I love it! :-)
Too funny! What a great story, and I'm sure she would have never noticed he was a turkey if he would have kept his big mouth shut!
Great job!
so much information in those simple silhouettes. sexy confidence of the girl, and the more reserved contemplative maybe hesitant posture of the man.
great job tony
:D This is hilarious! I love the outlines and the smokey background. What a nice "seasonal" piece.
Wonderful image, and absolutely hilarious!

Oh!It is very nice illo!!
Wonderful image and very interesting text.
I like the mysterious silhouette and the background effect. It sure gives room for imagination :) Yes, it's spellbound!
Tony! This is great. I love the smoke swirls so much. And, as always, you made me smile!
LOL Gobble, gobble, very nice.
LOL turkey? hmm.. he prob looked like he has tasty blood. seems the vampire found a worthy bait. };-}
There is a lot of detail in the background. I can't see it scary but it appears extremely elaborate.
I can see it being used as part of a design template for something.
this is a nice third frame when's the next installment?
