Illustration Friday: Cat

Play Whack a Cat.

Ok, I know this is a pain, but this content requires the Macromedia Flash Player 8. If you do not have it, please click here (you're going to want to get it eventually anyway). Get Flash

I have to admit, this theme for IFriday had me stumped. Then, after visiting some of the other submissions, I got depressed--you folks are good. Anyway, I decided to have some fun with it so I developed this little game. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks to my son Nick Sarrecchia the III for letting me use his voice.

Please have your volume on and give this a sec or so to load.

You have to let it load to a screen that says 'Click here to Whack the Cat' with a picture of Clancy the cat in the upper corner. From there you can click to play Whack the Cat.

This may take about 1-2 minutes to load on a 56K Modem.

As always, your feedback is appreciated.

There have been times that I would gladly volunteer Tiger to be the cat to get whacked. Don't tell my wife or daughter. Great post! Peace.

Toni, I love how you use flash to engage us into your illustrations! This week was quite fun... Smacking that Cat around! My son especially appreciates this one!

Tony, I'm sad, it wouldn't load properly on my computer, so I couldn't play :0 (
But boy, what have you got against cats?

Tony Sarrecchia... said...

Rachelle,

I sent you an email. Perhaps I will be fix it so you can see it.

Toni,

What error message do you get?

Everyone else, thanks for the good words. I am thinking about using Clancy in an ocassional series. Thoughts?

Tony, this is so fun! Very clever entry...Your son must have loved helping you with this project.

Tony Sarrecchia... said...

Alexa, thanks. My son did enjoy it, especially since he got to say a word he doesn't normally get to say.

one time my bottom browser bar just said there was and error downloading. I cleared my history and cache and tried again. It doesn't say error now but the bottom part of your illo is all white like part of it is missing like one third of it.

ROFL!! The cat DOES have a point! :) I'm glad I was hiding behing my keyboard. FUN illustration as well!

Rachelle said...

lol Great! One of the more original ideas I've seen for this week's topic. :D It also makes me yearn to find a game of whack-a-mole to play.

Collin said...

Hah! That was amusing. Good work. When I clicked on it I was expecting it to actually be a whack-a-mole style of game. You never can tell how some people feel about cats.

Ok, I know this is a pain, but, from what I can tell, this content requires the latest Macromedia Flash Player 8 (sorry, I thought the last version would work). If you do not have it, please go here (you're going to want to get it eventually anyway) to get it http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflash/. Hopefully that will clear up any problems viewing this content.

Well, THAT'S different! Nicely done, Tony!

Ian T. said...

You're a dog person, right, Tony? :) We've had a feral cat hanging around that this approach might work on...

I wasn't quite sure if I got the game working properly, but it's a nifty concept and piece of animation design in any case - excellent work!

hahahaha! This is great!

garth bruner said...

Fun! That must've taken a while!

Technical question here... How do you get a .swf file to load in blogger?

MjM said...

Man, that's loud!

Thanks for the embed tip, though.

Catnapping said...

I must be doing something wrong. I updated my macromedia flash, and I waited till the status bar told me it was done loading, but nothing would happen for me.

Catnapping said...

HEY! It's working for me now! LOL, this is hilarious. thank you!
