Who, as a child, hasn't thought that with enough balloons and enough helium they would float up to the sky?

Very nice...I love the colors. I had thought of balloons, but could not form and idea that satisified me. Your's is great.

P.S. You would love Mary Poppins...the art is fantastic...the movie is really one big Illustration Friday. =^..^=

Excellent use of primary colours (and blending them into the brown shirt to focus the picture - I like the sense that the balloon colours have mixed into the central figure).

The expression is just right - realization turning into distress and the way you have one set of balloons (the ones he's looking towards) blocking out the Sun is right on target as well!

A very strong composition and use of shapes and colours.
