Yet another reason to hate Wal-Mart

Ok, so this high school student is assigned a civic's project to take photos and illustrate his rights under the Bill of Rights. Harmless, right? Well, not once you get Wal-Mart involved.

Via Boing-Boing

"Wal-Mart called the police on a high-school student who brought in a pic of a homemade anti-George Bush poster for photo-finishing. The Secret Service went to the kid's high-school and confiscated the poster."

Anytime Wal-Mart is involved, you can almost be sure the word "stupid" will be close behind.

R-C, I am not sure if I blame Bush as much as the over-zealous Bush supporter at Wal-Mart. Though I can see where one could argue that the Bush administration has created an atmosphere of self-appointed secret police.

Thanks for stopping by.

I live in a small town where about the only place to shop is Wal-Mart unless I want to drive 30-40 minutes. So to hop in the car and drive 7 or 8 miles down the street is convienent. I hate McDonald's. I think big corporations like that try to take over the world. I'm sure Walmart pushes a lot of businesses out but where I live there wouldn't be anything if there wasn't a walmart. I probably should be anti-Walmart and that's probably hypocritical of me not to be. I don't know. I DO think however that the Bush Administration has created that don't trust anybody atmosphere that created this problem where we can't exercise our rights. The Patriot Act took those away.

I didnt notice this story - but I'm glad I decided to take a look further at your posting. I found that article an interesting read - almost humorous. Especially since, I decided to do a caricature of George Bush for IF - Remote. Well what can you say!!! If my blog disappears for some reason - I'll know what happen!!!!

first off it proves that yes, our rights are being taken away. but that happens everyday. you can't even unplug your own wife's life support without the government getting involved. it also shows that tis administration and it's "redhunt" if you will, have turned some of the more gullible into snitches. wow, how important that photo clerk must've been feeling, " yeah sheriff bob, there's someone having an independant thought, you'd better come on by and take a look at this." i think that bush forgot that he is an elected leader, ( and i'm using the term losley because he wasn't really elected by the people in the first place) not an emporer. i can wait til his last term is up. and we are truely "free" to talk shit about him without worring about a tax audit or the cia kidnapping us. our forefathers came to this country and screwed over the natives so that we could have a place to grow our tobacco and not pay tax to the queen. lets not forget that ultimately we will get what's coming to us. that my 2 pence.
